Products, Patients and Podcast

Kia ora koutou,

We are pleased to share with you recent news from Rua Bioscience.

Germany

We reached another milestone in the last month as we launched a new product into a very strong German market with our distribution partner Nimbus Health. We are expecting solid revenue in the coming weeks from Rua Hihiko, a dried flower medicinal product. Hihiko means “energetic or cheerful” which is totally appropriate for this uplifiting medicine.. We believe in incoporating our beautiful reo into our products as a way to take our story to the world. Learn more about our reo at Reo Rua.

Having recently returned from the German market our CEO, Paul Naske saw first hand the effect that recent changes to regulations are having in Germany. Medicinal cannabis has been down-scheduled on the list of narcotics making it easier for Doctors to prescribe. This has generated strong demand for medicinal cannabis and is expected to continue.

New Zealand

Closer to home we are super excited to be proudly bring a dried flower product to the New Zealand market. This is fantastic as it adds to our revenue stream and allows us to grow with the strong New Zealand market. The units of medicinal cannabis that are prescribed by Doctors and dispensed by Pharmacists continues to grow in New Zealand as patients and Doctors gain confidence in this medicine.

Compassionate Access

The Rua team is especially excited about the new New Zealand product because this allows us to further expand our compassionate access scheme for Tairawhiti patients. With the very kind koha from our overseas partners, Alphafarma and Schroll Medical, we can expand our compassionate access programme from 42 paitents per month to 52 patients per month. These companies have bought into our kaupapa and are true partners in our vision to change peoples lives and we cant thank them enough.

Sharesies podcast

Changes to New Zealand regulations

On July 1st, changes were made to medicinal cannabis regulations in New Zealand that mean that the standard required to export will be determined by the importing jurisdiction, rather than the New Zealand quality standard. In short, it will make it easier to export which is fantastic for the NZ medicinal cannabis industry and will provide many more additional opportunities for Rua. This is a major step in the right direction to creating a sustainable and vibrant industry from right here in New Zealand.
